The Not-So-Eggcellent Tariff Update (But We’ve Got You Covered)

Shelling Out the Bad News!Over the past few weeks, we’ve been cracking down on a big backend task: preparing for the newly updated U.S. import tariffs. These changes mean big differences in what American customers might pay when ordering from international shops like ours.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • China and Hong Kong made products are now subject to a 145% tariff when imported into the U.S.
  • Products made in other countries carry a 10% tariff
  • These fees are determined and collected by U.S. Customs at the time of import - not by the exporter, and not included in your checkout total. You will receive these charges after its been cleared through customs.

What does this mean for you if you’re in the U.S.?

  • When your order arrives at U.S. customs, they may flag it based on the country of origin of the items inside.
  • If tariffs apply, you’ll be contacted by the shipping carrier (like USPS, UPS, etc.) and asked to pay the applicable import fee before the package is released.
  • We don’t profit from these fees, and unfortunately we can’t waive or predict them. That’s Uncle Sam’s domain.

What we’ve done to help:

  • Products manufactured in China / Hong Kong will have a disclaimer at the top of each product page. We will move on to adding all countries of origin for every product in the next few weeks so you are more informed as the buyer.
  • We’re actively tagging and organizing our inventory so you can filter or browse based on origin, if you prefer to avoid potential duties
  • We’re also flagging any high-risk items in advance, so you’re not left with any egg on your face at the mailbox

We know this isn’t the most fun update, but we want to be fully transparent and make sure our U.S. customers can make informed decisions at checkout — especially with big-ticket items like Perfect Grades or Premium Bandai kits.

If you have any questions about your order or how to estimate potential import fees, reach out to us! We’re happy to help you hatch a plan.
